Ixtapa Island
It's a 10-minute boat ride from here to Ixtapa Island, where you can spend the day eating, sunning, and swimming.

Playa Linda
If you want to venture out of this compact resort area, take a taxi 15 minutes up the coast to Playa Linda.

Quieta Beach
About 300 meters (01. miles) long. The Island is in front of this white-yellow sand beach, so waves are soft most of the time. Access through a hotel's gate located on its shore, it is a public beach but the gate is closed at night.

Ixtapa Island
The most popular beach on Ixtapa Island is Playa Cuachalalate, named for a local tree whose bark has been used as a remedy for kidney ailments since ancient times. This beach is lined with good seafood eateries and is excellent for swimming. A short walk across to the other side of the island takes you to the gorgeous sandy Varadero Beach. Playa Carey, toward the south end of the island, is small and isolated. Pangas (little boats) run between the boat landings at both Cuachalalate and Varadero beaches and Playa Linda on the mainland.

El Palmar Beach
This is a semi-open bay of about 2 kms long with white and fine sands. Many water sports available including parachute rides. Since it is considered as an open sea beach, hotels will post water condition with flags. This beach has lifeguards on duty.

Playa Del Palmar
Ixtapa's main beach, this 3-km- (2-mi-) long broad sandy stretch runs the length of the hotel zone. Water-sports facilities are available all along the shore. Since this is essentially open sea, the surf can be quite strong.

Linda Beach
Located north of Ixtapa in open sea. Here is the pier where you can embark for a visit to the island. Good place for surfing. At the entrance (away from the shoreline and with fences) you will see a small swamp with alligators. If you would like to visit the surrounding area, take a horseback riding tour up to Pantla River from this point.
